About Dr. Assenmacher
Dr. Assenmacher is board certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He has trained with leaders at top institutions and is devoted to continue this level of care for all of his patients.
Practicing at ProMedica Health System in Monroe, MI and Toledo, OH. Dr. Assenmacher completed a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN with emphasis on advanced shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, reconstruction and arthroplasty techniques. He has also completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Aspen Sports Medicine Foundation in Aspen, CO with emphasis on athletic and traumatic knee and hip arthroscopy and reconstruction.
Dr. Assenmacher is originally from the area and was born and raised in Ida, MI with his undergrad at the University of Michigan and medical school education at the University of Toledo. He then completed orthopedic residency at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI followed by his specialty training in Sports and Shoulder/Elbow.
